Viridian C5L
Purchased a Viridian C5L green laser/tac lite for my Beretta PX4SC, from the only pic i've seen it looks like a sweet set up. I am sure it will take time to find a holster, as i'd like to get a Kydex when they start production for the PX4SC.
Question, searching for the C5L on this site did not show much interest. Maybe its still a bit ahead of the power curve, but if your thinking laser sites, please check out the C5L and tell me what you think. I am in NO WAY associated with the company nor do i have anything to gain other than your input.
I'd really like to find out if anyone has ordered from Viridian, and not some other "optics" store that had ordered in bulk.
Just to get an idea of how long the backorder wait time is.
Thanks again, and hope to hear some pros and cons.

Re: Viridian C5L
I have the same pistol and I was considering the same C5L. Please, try to use it after you zero at 15 yrds or so and let us know how you like it and if does hold zero after firing sessions and after remove-re-attach. How do you like the light, is it bright enough?
I also hold off purchasing because of the price. I wanted to pay somewhere around $215-$225 and the price was north of that. How much did you pay?
Thanks for your review in advance.

Re: Viridian C5L
It was priced $329 ( i believe) from Viridian, with 15% off for St Patricks Day sale..
with shipping and all about $285 and they are including a 3 pack of the batteries.
I've done a good bit of research on the laser, and you can find it at some other Optics sites, even Cabelos where its supposedly "in stock". But i'm hoping to get one thats fresh of the press so to speak, where most of the bugs have been worked out in production.
Personally, and feel free to let me know what you or anyone thinks. I dont want to "zero" the laser at all, I plan to site the point of laser an 1-1.5" (whatever it works out to be) lower than my iron sites , the same distance between muzzle and laser as it sits ON weapon.
So, at virtually ANY distance, minus projectile "drop", it should be "close" to that point of impact by the same distance.
If you "zero" a laser at close range, then any shots at a greater distance will be LOW, increasing by the longer the shot....
Not trying to make rifle shots, but still, a 7 yard shot vs a 20 yard shot, should still be within a couple inches between POA and POI.

Re: Viridian C5L
We (my son actually) has a Springfield XDm 9mm with a C5L. He loves it. The intensity of the laser is beyond any I have seen. Our tree line at home is almost 200 yards away from the house and on a bright sunlit day you can see the laser easily...and I have bad eyesight. He set his laser parallel to the pipe and has removed it several times and has not had to readjust it. He has also put 500 rounds through it. The holes are where they are supposed to be. I can't tell you what he paid for it, but he did order from Viridian directly and that was a year ago. He got it within two weeks.
The tac light had an issue after about a month...quit working. Lamp and battery were ok. The C5L had gotten into a mode that would not turn on the tac light at all. The problem was not addressed in the manual, but a phone call provided the quick solution. (don't know what he did) I'll have to have him show me when he returns from the sandbox.
I have a PX4 and would love to have one, but can't afford it for now. Maybe I'll get one for Father's Day.
Good luck with yours. I don't believe you will be dissatisfied.

Re: Viridian C5L
Well, it finally shipped, should be here by Friday (per UPS tracking).
I'll be the first to say it IS pricey. BUT, the good stuff always is.
Just like the PX4 SC, i HAD to have it, so i figure the C5L should be a great match.
Now if i can find a CC holster for the set up.

Re: Viridian C5L
one thing to check for is how it works in cooler weather ...
Green laser are great - love them - BUT many of them have a problem with warm up time in cooler weather
and they are pricey

Re: Viridian C5L
warm up time... when i find a good holster, being on a CCW, wouldnt the human body assist in keeping the temp at a level where this shouldnt be a problem?
on my body or in a nightstand... is where it will be.
maybe if it was left in a glove box or center console.
i admit i would never totally rely on a laser sight, iron sight training will never stop.
YES, they are pricey. I justify it as "a little extra insurance".
22years of military training helps keep me out of trouble, but if it finds me...

I guess a belly band would work untill Kydex or someone else makes one to fit the SC.
Not sure how much my belly will like it.

Re: Viridian C5L
I'm thinking of picking up one of these for my XDs. I might also play with it on my AR being that I dont have any other rail lights yet.
I probably will not carry it though because Comp-Tac doesnt make a holster for an XD with a light.
I've used my XD holsters to carry my Glock 17 on occasion, holds it well enough. I wonder if I got a glock with light holster if it would hold my XDs decently enough?
