Two men shot during an apparent robbery attempt in the Clear Lake area were rushed to a hospital Sunday night.

They were gunned down shortly after 8 p.m. by a homeowner at Bay Area Boulevard and Saturn. They were taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Conditions were unknown, and police are investigating.

A Houston Police Department helicopter helped officers on the ground spot two male suspects, who were taken into custody."

"HPD: Resident Shoots 2 Home Invaders

POSTED: 9:22 am CST November 27, 2006

HOUSTON -- An apartment resident shot two men who tried to rob him in a home invasion, officials told KPRC Local 2.

Houston police said the men tried to break into a unit at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Bay Area Boulevard near Saturn Lane at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday.

Officials said the men tried to tie up the resident.

The resident opened fire on the robbers, striking one in the face and the other in the shoulder, police said.

Police said the men tried to run away, but officers caught up with them and placed them under arrest.

The alleged robbers were transported to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment.

The resident was not injured."

Sounds like he got a "brace" of badguys. Too bad he didn't get the whole covey.

Maybe next time.

They were gunned down shortly after 8 p.m. by a homeowner
Would you say the Chronicle writer was a little biased?

No. Brainwashed.

I have a theory that actually applies to multiple topics.

If the reporter had actually ever faced a robbery, assault etc, it would more than likely not have been labelled "gunned down".

Along the same lines, I believe most anti-death penalty folks would change their mind if one of theirs was murdered.

Most libs/antigun/anti 2A types really have not a clue. They lead sheltered lives and will never change their way of thinking(!) until faced with a reality much different from the miost recent episode of "Survivor" or "Bachelor" they just watched. Even when reality hits home, some will never see the light. True sheeple are they!

The unfortunate thing is that some of us here are old enough to remember when the Chronicle was a bastion of conservatism.

Back then, it was the Houston Post that was liberal.

With the merger/acquisistion? of the two, conservatism was lost.

At least, the writer of the KPRC article approached it honestly.

We used to live in that area. WAAAAYYYYYYYYYY to crowded. And the crime was starting to get bad when we left five or six years ago, you just didn't hear about it.
There's a lot of random crime out there too.

That was the line from the first story that stuck out for me as well.
