A resident from another state can legally (under federal law) buy a long gun (no pistols) from an FFL in another state so long as the state laws for both states are observed. There is no contiguous state requirement in federal law. There is an adjoining state clause in a few state's laws, but I am not sure if it exists in Texas or Louisiana law.Crossfire wrote:He can purchase a long gun in a contiguous state, but not a handgun. Texas has no contiguous clause, as I have purchased rifles in Arizona. Another bit of info if you have a Arizona CCW(resident or not), you get the bonus of no NICS calls as we enjoy here in Texas.Jumping Frog wrote:A resident from another state can legally (under federal law) buy a long gun (no pistols) from an FFL in another state so long as the state laws for both states are observed.
