TSRA meetings and gunshow

Post by RPBrown »

I'm a little late with this and I'm sorry but the speakers for the show are:

Friday--Sandra Froman-President of the NRA

Saturday lunch--Rep. Joe Driver

Saturday evening--Jerry Patterson and Sandra Froman

The gun show will be Saturday, Feb. 3rd and Sunday, Feb. 4th

As a side note, I picked up the banner for our table at the show. I did not go with the forum logo exactly because after all of the artwork and printing was figured in I could have bought LT a new Glock. (sorry LT. couldn't resist). The banner is very similar to the logo though.

Still need some people to help man the booth. PM if you can help as I would like to attend the Sat. lunch this year.

Hope to see a lot of you this year.

Check yer PM's "RPB"...

Suggestion...

Lets put together a list of the bills with a brief synopsis (one pager) as a hand out at your booth...Both Pro and Con, if there are any...

Just an idea...I'll donate a ream of paper if we think this is a good idea...

;-) RP, "our table" as in a TexasCHLforum.com table, or something else?

I have the date marked on my calendar, but I probably won't know until mid-January if I can attend...lotta stuff going on at work right after the first. I'll contact you once I know, and will be glad to help in any way I can.

As an FYI for others who may not know, Friday, February 2 is the Friends of the NRA Fundraising Banquet. The cost is $30, and half of the proceeds will come back to Texas in TSRA George Tubbs Scholarship funding.

The TSRA members' meeting is the morning of the 3rd, followed by the luncheon with Joe Driver that RP mentioned. The exhibit hall will be open 9-6 Saturday and 10-4 Sunday.

The TSRA has a discount arranged with the Hampton Inn and Suites that adjoins the Mesquite Convention Center. The rate is a very reasonable $79 per night; 972-329-3100 for reservations, and be sure to tell them you want the TSRA rate.

I’ve contacted my State Rep, Gary Elkins, about co-sponsoring HB560. Have you contacted your Rep?

I'll be at the Friends of the NRA dinner Friday night, and the fun show on Saturday.

Yes it is the forum table. We set it up last year for the first time as a place to meet and greet. Met several members there.

Also, if you join or renew your TSRA membership at the door, the gun show is free and if you pay for any of the dinners that also includes entry to the gun show.

Look forward to seeing everyone.

That is where I first learned about this site.

While I'm very new to the forum I would be very interested in helping to man the table.

I will help man the table on Sat, but I also want to attend the lunch. So, put me down for before or after, please.

Are we still welcome to bring flyers for classes, as before?

Yes you can bring fliers for classes and trainind. Stevie-D is putting togeather some fliers on upcomming bills for the legislature, I'm sure Charles or Tracon wil bring literature on PSC and IDPA.

If everyone that can help with the table would PM me with day and times available, I will out togeather a list and post it.

Thanks to all that have and will help out.

Even if you can't work the table, please come out and visit. It's great to put faces with names.

If I haven't waited too late, I would like to get a table (or tables) for TexasCHLforum members at the Friday night Friends of the NRA Dinner. If anyone is planning to attend the FONRA dinner and would like to sit with the group, let me know. If there is any interest, I'll post a "sign-up" sticky.

I will be glad to help with the table and don't mind taking duty this year during the luncheon. I do want to attend the friends of the NRA dinner and the TSRA members meeting. I would appreciate any time that does not conflict with those. I can't wait!
