Finally gave in and bought a mouse gun!
I know, I thought I would never buy one being that my snub smith is my pocket carry but as I have posted before I work out in a public park with shorts and a light t-shirt and the snub was just not cutting it. So I compromised, smaller, thinner and almost half the weight of my j-frame fully loaded.
Yep, Kel tec p32. It conceals great in my 5.11 tactical undershirt and no one is the wiser. In the end it is better then throwing rocks and running the 100 feet to my car to grab my 10mm pistol at the park. I plan to take it to the range next week, just ordered 500 rounds for break in and practice. Here are some pics.

I tried it but it moved around to much. I run, do push ups, jumping jacks, sit ups, jump rope etc etc. It is a boot camp like workout that is non stop for 45min and the smart carry moved a little to much and wasn't great for double crunches. The 5.11 tactical has a small pouch on the sides and you can not see it at all with a t shirt over it and it is very secure. Only downside is that it is a little hotter even though it is under armour like material now that I will be wearing it under the t shirt.

Don't get me wrong I totally understand that this is a last ditch effort! In all likelihood if I ever draw this weapon in defense I will be firing and running to my 10mm at the same time!

Re: Finally gave in and bought a mouse gun!
M i C....K E Y.... I love my mouse gun. After golf we went out for dinner, I had on a tight Golf shirt and baggy shorts. My mouse in my front right pocket loaded. I don't dress around a gun. I dress around 3 or 4 of them. T-shirt and outer shirt, dress suit, wear a fullsize gun. Don't be ashamed of your mouse though. It is a useful tool. Ballistic tests on critical defense ammo shows they will put a nasty hole in BG. A couple nasty holes is not good news for him.

Hornady doesn't have a critical defense round for the .32acp. Unless it is something I don't know about? I got the .32acp after firing both the p3at and p32. P32 was far more accurate and quicker follow up shots. Plus my better half hated the p3at, to much snap for her but she loved the p32. When she gets a chl she might carry the p32 as a pocket carry.

As far as I know most carry Fiocchi or S&B 73 grain fmj as a carry load. The only jhp load that penetrates at least 10inches is the new Barnes Corbon 60 grain bullet. Corbon told me 9.5-11 inches every time with perfect expansion. I will have to try some of those out also.
Re: Finally gave in and bought a mouse gun!
I've owned 3 P32s and use to carry them as backups when I was a cop. I always carried FMJs. HP aren't necessary in small calibers like this. I think you bought more than enough ammo. These are more carry guns than shooters. My first P32 trigger spring broke at round 189 and while Keltec fixed it with no problem it's not something that should have failed so quick.

Re: Finally gave in and bought a mouse gun!
I know they have their little problems and I am prepared to have to send it back. I couldn't find another gun that was as light, small and easy to shoot as the p32. Several .380s where close in size and weighed a few ounces more but the p32 was the only micro that I would want to shoot at the range on a regular basis and my very tiny fiancée could also shoot. My fathers friend has two p3ats one for carry and one to get fixed. His newer one has been flawless in over 700 rounds but his old one has been back to kel tec 3 times within roughly a 1000 rounds. It was cheaper to buy in bulk and .32acp is expensive in local stores, even Wal-Mart. I figure this is one of those guns that has a unique purpose that I will always use and will have it or another p32 for many years to come. As for the trigger spring it wouldn't be the first gun I have owned that had one break within 200 rounds, my Bersa did that.
As for shooting the p32 I was surprised how much easier it was to control and shoot accurately then the p3at. Even the FFL who sold it to me said I wouldn't notice a difference but I surely did (maybe he never shot a p32) and so did my better half. The other thing I liked is that the slide locks back on the last round of the p32 but the p3at did not. I thought it was pretty easy to shoot (easier then my snub smith) and just as accurate. I will give a range report once I get the ammo in and run at least 100 rounds through it on the first visit.

Is rimlock no longer an issue with .32 dimensions ?
What rimlock is:

If not, why not?
I know Seecamp modified the mag to angle the cartridges.
IIRC rimkock is mostly a hollowpoint issue

I've had 3 P32s. Never experienced rimlock
Keltec makes a slip-in shim for it.
They also make a 10-round mag.
Winchester Silvertips are the ammo to use.

Re: Finally gave in and bought a mouse gun!
Just thought I would update on the P32. So far with 3 range sessions I have about 400 rounds through it. Not one FTF so far. First range session I put 80rounds through it and the last two about 150 a piece with Fiocchi 73 grain fmj. Gun is accurate within mouse gun distances(6yards). I am really starting to like this little bugger!
Re: Finally gave in and bought a mouse gun!
My bad, I was talking about my Taurus .380. My wife has an old AMT .380. Might trade that thing in on a .32. The AMT goes bang evertime but isn't very accurate outside 12"CC Italian wrote:Hornady doesn't have a critical defense round for the .32acp. Unless it is something I don't know about?

Re: Finally gave in and bought a mouse gun!
To clarify, a .32 is certainly better than a pebble because, although it's of similar size and weight, it moves a lot faster.zero4o3 wrote:when I was looking around for something to pocket carry a friend of mine let me borrow his P32, sweet little guns. definitly better then rocks
Keep in mind that rapid escape should be part of your tactical plan because the fight stopping effect of the .32 will be much slower than it would be if one used a larger rock - like a brick.
