Doctor Warning!!

Post by texaseyes »

FACTS TO PONDER:

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.

Now think about this: Guns:
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000.
(Yes, that's 80 million..

B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is

1,500.

(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.

Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately

9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,

BUT

ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.

We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention

Thats cute, but I would like to see your source. I know it iindicates the US department of health human services, I assume they mean health AND human services, but show me the actual data.

I liked this as well and tried to verify the facts when I first ran into it. It can't be done as no sources were cited. I found others that had come to the same conclusion. One would basically have to begin their own research anew and re-derive all of these from trusted sources of their own. If someone actually does that, please quote your sources as it might get some real play time if you could back this up.

As it stands, it's just darn funny.

Some data and resources at:

I still can't find the page I had bookmarked with the 98,000 deaths due to medical errors cited...

This is extremely Off Topic.

Closed.
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
