To those who are in Tyler and inside the loop of Houston

Just passing on the info.

Pasted from the GT forums to save time:

If you live in TX's 1st or 18th congressional districts, please contact your rep immediately to oppose the 2007 Assault Weapon Ban!

The new legislation, H.R. 1022., is currently in Committee, and the following two reps are on the Judiciary Committee. Their opinion helps decide whether this bill gets killed now, or moves on to Congress.

The 1st is around Tyler/Longview.
The 18th is around inner Houston.
Look yourself up on Google if you're not sure about your district (I'll admit, I wasn't either)

Here's the text from the Library of Congress:

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D?c ... c110Bg3uFh::

And here's the link to automatically contact your rep, though a phonecall or postcard would also be great: http://www.house.gov/writerep/

I emailed my rep yesterday, though there's not much he can do unless it moves out of committee.

But, if your'e in the 1st or the 18th, your voice matters _now_.

Take care,

Kinny,

You can forget about Sheila Jackson-Lee (Texas 18th U.S. Congressional District), she will allow it to proceed and will vote for the ban...

I am unfortunately in the 22nd District now represented by Nick Lampson...Even though he is a democrat, he has an A (maybe even a plus rating) from the NRA...

Like Charles has said, and I agree with him...This will test those theories on how good those ratings are when the rubber hits the road basically...

Louie Gohmert on the other hand...

I got a sneeky feeling he may be solid on our side of the equation...

I wouldn't worry too much about where he'd fall on this...

It never hurts to put a call in or drop a letter/post card.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.
