Carry Clothes

Post by Ranger+P+ »

Wanted to say how much I am enjoying your forum--lot of good stuff here.

I have been using Woolrich Elite clothing for the past year and I am very impressed. I still use 5.11 gear but only certain stuff.

Here is what I have found:

1. Woolrich Elite Vest- awesome vest, I use it on details almost all the time. They have a liteweight discreet version too that might be more street friendly.
2. Woolrich Elite Cargo Pant & Discreet Carry Pant: These have replaced my 5.11's. They are tougher and more fade resistant. The Discreet pant is my all time carry pant, it looks like a pair of dockers, so I can wear them anywhere and have all my gear stashed without my pockets bulging.
3. Woolrich Elite Carry SS Shirt: I own all 3 colors of this shirt. It is full cut and long like a Guayabera Shirt with side vents. Cotton/Rayon mix. I can pack any gun I own in a Wilderness Zip slide and it does not print or bulge.

I buy all my stuff at BackyardOutfitters.com, but you may want to shop around, the beauty is you will pay about the same as 5.11 gear, but it will last you longer, atleast it did me.

Keep your head down.

Yep; drop the "s" and it's good: http://www.backyardoutfitter.com.

To chime in on the subject, here's something I bought recently and have been happy with: http://www.romagunbags.com/vest.html.

They've been around for years, but I'd never "discovered" them. The company, Roma Leathers, is out of Ontario, California, and the vest is about one-fourth the price of Coronado models. It's 100% leather on the outside (mine's a natural, "nubby" texture, not machined smooth) and fully nylon lined. There are three pretty standard external pockets, but on the inside are two, large (at least 12 inches deep), "Napoleon" pockets, one on each side, enclosed by heavy-duty, 600-denier nylon and with built-in elastic straps for gun and magazine.

The inside pockets are big enough to accomodate a full-sized 1911, and absolutely nothing prints through the heavy nylon and leather. The pockets have a single snap closure that's easy to open, but will keep a gun concealed even if you leave the vest front unbuttoned.

Your mileage will vary on this, but since I'm barely six foot and wear a 2XL, the vest is also long enough--but not annoyingly long like a 5.11--to conceal an IWB if I keep the vest front fastened. It'll be too hot in Houston summers, but will get a lot of wear from October to May.

Here's a different link to all their concealment accessories: http://www.wholesalecentral.com/romalea ... atid=66595.
