I really like my CTAC for my G23. But wearing it for an entire day, especially if much of that time is in a car, can be a pain in the hip.
I've been thinking about trying a leather IWB holster, but the resistance when drawing from my OWB leather has me hesitant. Especially since I like my belt to be tight, anyway.
So I've been looking at the "hybrid" holsters. Both leather and kydex. I've only found Tucker's The Answer and Crossbreed's IWB or Super Tuck holsters. At roughly half the price of Tucker's holster, the crossbreed is something I want to look into more.
Do ay of you have any experience with the Crossbreed IWB or Super Tuck holsters? If so, can you compare it to the CTAC? It looks like the standard clips for the IWB is a "J-hook" or a "C-hook." I have only used CTAC's standard hooks (over the belt then clip under the bottom edge of the belt). Are J-hooks and C-hooks sturdy and reliable for holding up the weapon/holster and for keeping the holster in place while the weapon is drawn?
Thank you for any information you can give me. This forum is a wealth of good information!

Barre,
I have a Crossbreed IWB for my Glock. I like it very much. It's light and comfortable.
The only problem I had was, I could not get a "shooting grip" on the butt of the gun to draw.
If you look at the pictures on the website, the leather part is a big oval shapped piece. You can't get you thumb between the gun and the leather.
SO, you have to ask Mark when you order, for a "Full grip/ Combat draw".
I had to send mine back. Mark is a good guy, he did the modification for free and I think he even refunded the postage I payed to return it.
His original design puts the gun way down low and you have to pull it out with two fingers and then regrip.
The "Full grip/ Combat draw" removes some leather & Kydex, so you can get a "Full grip" when you draw. I had to punch an extra hole down lower to raise the holster up a little higher and increase the cant.
I would buy another one!! I should have bought another one! I recently bought a FIST K-7 Kydex IWB for my new Taurus PT 145. They are about the same price and I wanted to try something different. I shoulda Bought another Crossbreed!!!!
Yes the "quality" of the Crossbreed is less than a Tucker, but so is the price. I haven't had anything break on mine.
Crossbreed "C" clips are made of thin Kydex and you have to thread your belt through them. You can't snap them on and off like a CTAC clip. But that means that the holster is not going anywhere unless you take off you belt.
Reminds me, there was a 2nd issue. My double layer gunbelt wouldn't fit in the original C clips. I told Mark my belt was 1/4" thick and he replaced the C clips for free with ones the belt would fit through.
I don't think you would be unhappy with a Crossbreed. Tucker's "The Answer" is a fine holster if you want to spend more money.
Some people drive a Chevy some drive a Lexus. Just depends how much you want to spend.

I've been very happy with a Don Hume PCCH IWB Holster. I got mine from here: http://gunnersalley.zoovy.com/product/PCCH
for a Glock G-27 (sub-compact)
It has just enough exposure to allow a shooting grip but stays very concealled. Wear is very comfortable at 3:30 possition.
I did have to switch to always wearing a t-shirt and an un-tucked outter shirt. But will not allow tucked.
Good luck

I just got a Crossbreed Super-Tuck and I think I've found my final holster for my Sig 239. I had a Don Hume IWB and BladeTech IWB previously. The only problem is that the grooves in the hammer would dig into my side after a few hours. The shape of the cut of leather on the Crossbreed keeps the hammer separate from my body so I can wear it all day and I don't even notice it sometimes. The Crossbreed also carries very close against the body and conceals very well. The cant is adjustable too with different holes cut in the leather for the clips. I can take pics of mine if you like. I probably bought 5 or 6 holsters among my Sig 239 and Ruger SP-101 before I found this one that I really like and am going to stick with.
Is there anyway you could take a picture of the modifications? I have the Supertuck too, and while I absolutely love how comfortable and discrete the holster is, I do not like the idea of having to readjust my grip when I draw. However, I do not want to send the holster back, I would rather modify it myself, but I need a reference.OverEasy wrote:Barre,
