Wont deprime consitently
I have a Dillon XL650 and it wont deprime the old primers at times, I have cleaned, lubed, adjusted the die and shell plate and replaced the deprimer pin twice. It just wont deprime certain cases but there is no rhyme or reason, any ideas?

Re: Wont deprime consitently
By any chance, are the cases you have problems with PPU brass? I had similar problems when de-priming these. Apparently the Serbs use a sealer around the primers and it takes a lot to punch the primer out. I eventually extended the pin out and haven't had any problems since then.thatguy wrote:I have a Dillon XL650 and it wont deprime the old primers at times, I have cleaned, lubed, adjusted the die and shell plate and replaced the deprimer pin twice. Re: Wont deprime consitently
I did extend the pin by putting a small piece of plastic behind the pin but did not make much difference.
I cleanded the pin with emery cloth but that did not fix anything either. I finally filed one side of the pin as suggested (Dillon suggested this as well) which seemed to solve the problem right away, so far I have not had any primers stay in the brass.
Thanks for the help.

I have had similar issues on my Dillon 1050. I have gotten to where I can "FEEL" it and check the shell at the next station. I may try the filing trick on mine as well. Thanks.
