Excuses to go back to your vehicle...

Post by Millionhorns »

Let's say you're with a couple of friends and y'all are going to the movies. You get to the door and notice the 30.06 sign; you must put your weapon in your car/truck. What do you tell people you're with? "Oh hey, I gotta go put my gun up!" or are you more discreet about it... "Crap, forgot something in my truck. I'll be right back!"

What do you do? I ask, because I'm actually about to head to a movie theater with my roommate (who doesn't know I carry. I just wanna see how long it takes him to find out I carry.) We are going to a New Theater in town and idk if they have 30.06 signs up.

Thanks!

i know i was wrong for doing this but few times i continued on in to places -- just for the simple fact i did not want to be seen going back to my car and have the chance of being seen putting it up -- its messed up to walk up to store or place then see the sign and have to go back -- plus in the back of my head i have always thought if for some reason something happened and i had to use it the place would probably be glad i was there to save the day -- i do wonder what most do though -- all my friends know i carry though -- my only worry is thieves seeing me put it up or maybe thinking thats why went back

I keep it quiet. You never know who is listening and you might find your car burglarized when you get back

I think this is most likely for me as well. .. At worst my LEO friends would just be giving me a hard time for having to go back to the car.

If I can't go into a Movie with my gun (considering the killing fields the movies have been proven to be) I will be going and doing something esle.

Better to endure an uncomfortable excuse than commit a felony. .
Go back to the car. Always.

Call me anal but I don't start out for a location that I'm unfamiliar with without checking Texas3006.com first. Most of the places where I cannot carry are well known - hospitals, Chuckie Cheese, etc. but there is always a chance with some new store like IKEA that they have posted. Most times, I'm with people who will understand if we get to the door and there is a dratted sign. I'd simply say "I've got to go to my car, I'll be back in a minute" and there would be no questions - assuming that I decided to proceed. A sign is more likely to have me change my plans. If they don't want me, they don't want my money either.

I guess I just don't like surprises and will avoid them if I can. It is much easier to plan and avoid the sign problem than to arrive and be faced with the dilemma.

I've used, I forgot my cellphone in the car once. Then when I caught up to my friends again, I'd say it was with me the whole time just down at the bottom of my purse... If you don't carry a purse then it just might not fly. :biggrinjester:

In the interests of accuracy, I believe that is a Class A Misdemeanor, not a felony.
