Wow! He just took the journalist apart in a very rational and calm manner.

I took a lot of notes. I wish Alex Jones and some of the other belligerents who are claiming to be helping us would be able handle the conversation as well as this guy did.

I don't think that journalist recovered after finding out that there was a 9mm 5 feet from him. :biggrinjester:

THANK YOU very much for sharing these links. They are going out to my distribution list now.

Morgan is a regular participant at SigForum.com, where there is a thread of this episode this morning. You can go over there and congratulate him, but I guess you'd have to register.

It seems to me that a lot of people who fear firearms, or have some issue with them, live in a bubble world (I'm not speaking of the truly ideological gun-grabbers, but of the well-meaning, misguided "think of the children" types like the reporter in that video). They cannot grasp the FACT that, even when there are no CHLs, ect. such as in Chicago, that they are passed by in the street, in the store, etc. by people who are armed on a daily basis. I believe they think that if a gun is nearby, they will see it because it will be in someone's hand, and lead will be flying.

Gosh what a level headed and articulate individual. I applaud him for just simply not getting angry. I wish I was like him but I am afraid I fall into the Alex Jones camp as far as debating goes :tiphat: This is why I usually don't get involved in speaking to those who are so diametrically opposed to my beliefs. Those who I want to speak for me, (NRA, SAF, JPFO, etc), should be looking to promote these type of individuals, especially young people. Although we cannot win over the Media, perhaps we could flood the internet and local media outlets with good articulate pro gun messages given by people who are young, strong willed, and especially pro gun individuals.
Unless we keep the barbarian virtues, gaining the civilized ones will be of little avail. Oversentimentality, oversoftness, washiness, and mushiness are the great dangers of this age and of this people." Teddy Roosevelt"

It appears that ALL of the media have one script that they go by. Many times they pick some hot head (Alexander Emerick "Alex" Jones) to be interviewed as an ambassador for the American gun owners.

I love interviews like this where they have a calm, rational, and informed representative of gun owners. :thumbs2:

This video led me to some poking around the Federalist Papers this morning. I found this worth sharing.

To those who would argue that "modern weapons" do not belong in the hands of civilians. That the Founders "never imagined" that weapons of today would exist and "surely" they would not want them in civilian hands..... Alexander Hamilton would disagree.
"...but if circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people, while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all inferior to them in discipline and use of arms, who stand ready to defend their rights..." (Alexander Hamilton speaking of standing armies in Federalist 29.)
.... further...
"It is not certain that with this aid alone [possession of arms], they would not be able to shake off their yokes. But were the people to posses the additional advantages of local governments chosen by themselves, who could collect the national will, and direct the national force; and of officers appointed out of the militia, by these governments and attached both to them and to the militia, it may be affirmed with the greatest assurance, that the throne of every tyranny in Europe would be speedily overturned, in spite of the legions which surround it." (James Madison, "Federalist No. 46")
And this.
"Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state government, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people" (Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788)

When he says the police have a duty to protect the interviewer is dead wrong according to the supreme court. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/28/polit ... .html?_r=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Not only do they not have the duty to protect you but really they dont have the capacity. They cannot be everywhere nor should they be expected to.

WVCDL is a good organization that has been of great benefit to not only West Virginia, but the 2A community as a whole.

Jim Mullins was their founder and president, who tragically died last August at age 30 from a heart attack. He left a wife and small children.

Glad to see his gavel has been passed on to someone who can help us fight the good fight.

I'm glad that he raised the issues of projection, that the police have no duty to come to anybody's aid and the fact that "assault weapons" have been used legally many times in self-defense.
:iagree: I've long thought that most peoples fears surrounding firearms are really an irrational fear of their lack of self control or that they will have an accident and hurt or kill someone. Maybe that they will go mad with power and go on a shooting spree or something. My own sister was like this and has made tremendous progress in this area because of me carrying around her and her family for over 10 years now. She finally asked me to take her shooting last summer and show her some things. She is much much less fearful now and is even becoming very pro gun. She hasn't shot again yet or bought her own, but who know what 2013 will bring yet.

BTW, I thought it was great when Mr. Morgan dropped that little bombshell that he was armed at that very moment. I think that guy's heart actually skipped a few beats.
