Edit to add the wise words of HighVelocity: "How many parts have to break at once on a Glock for it to stop working? The world may never know"

You're right.....come on down for some BBQ and we will swap. I know you would rather have the more experienced one!stevie_d_64 wrote: If its broken, yet still works...Why fix it???

I talked to the folks in Smyrna and sent them a picture. Nice folks, but I do not think they are going to send me an extractor. I just thought they might want to see the bubbles and what it caused. I am thinking about making Longtooth a necklace out of it![]()
If the next extractor shoots as many rounds......I just can't complain!

Nah, LT would just use it to show how a Glock breaks. (don't matter that it had 10-20 thousand rounds thru her).jbirds1210 wrote:You're right.....come on down for some BBQ and we will swap. I wish I could remember the webpage that did it, but I am almost positive that it will still work. I could be wrong, but that would be an interesting thing to see. I may try it next time at the range....Diode wrote:That's amazing. Try it without the extractor altogether, it might still work.

Sadly, this is very true. I own two XD's and this is the one area where they come up short compared to Gro....er, I mean Glock.AV8R wrote:There's a reason we like Glocks. The factory will probably mail you a new extractor, no charge.
For a Springfield XD, forget it. The extractor is pressed into the slide, not removable. That's a $100 trip to the factory for replacement. (Same applies to anything else that breaks, Springfield doesn't sell parts, so a field repair kit isn't an option.)
