Church Reciprocity Question
I am invited to my cousin’s wedding next Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Arlen and I want to carry my 1911 inside the church during the wedding, but I am worried about the Church Reciprocity Law. I want to be legal, but I am not sure about the reciprocity laws regarding church carry. My CHL instructor said that the Baptists had reverse-reciprocity with the Methodists, but not vice versa. He said that if I were a Baptist I could carry in a Methodist church in addition to carrying in a Baptist Church, but since I am a Methodist, I can only carry in a Methodist church and not a Baptist one.
I am still a little confused and wanted some more clarification on this matter so I called the DPS in Austin and had a very short conversation with a DPS Trooper, but after I asked the question we were cut off so I never got an answer. When I tried to call back the phone just kept ringing.
I am taking my girlfriend to the wedding. She has a CHL too, but since she is Jewish and can’t carry on the Sabbath in a church, so I don’t know what to do. Since the church is in a bad section of town I don’t want to go to the wedding without being armed. Please can anybody help?

Carry on Hank Hill. Don't forget your rosary beads as those evidence you are a current chl. It's much less gaudy than a chl badge. Enjoy the wedding and watch out for us crazy Baptists.

Bill, you've got to change things up a little bit. If you're too much a creature of habit, people are going to stop taking you seriously.

Doesn't it depend if that church's god is omniscient? Although, if their god is omniscient and omnipotent, theres no mistaking his brand of effective notice.Running Arrow Bill wrote:Carrying in a church should be the least of your worries!

I call baloney on this. If you really were a Methodist, the only thing that would matter was whether you would get out in time to beat the Baptists to the restaurant for Sunday lunch.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

And we Presbyterians never get out in time to beat the Methodists or the Baptists. So we converted to Christian Reformed. Done by 11:30! First in line!JALLEN wrote:I call baloney on this. Re: Church Reciprocity Question
I guess so. The Presbyterians had a lot more sin to talk about, so it takes longer.xb12s wrote:And we Presbyterians never get out in time to beat the Methodists or the Baptists. There aren't enough CR's to fill the restaurant, so as long as they beat the Baptists, nobody gets too upset. There's a lot more of those guys.
