As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

CT Middle School Teaching that We Don't Have Any 2A Rights

Post by Dave2 »

In at least one classroom:
http://news.yahoo.com/conn-father-stunn ... 36716.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/to ... -arms.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If such a thing were to happen here, I'd hope the teacher would be forced out of their job by the community if the school didn't fire them quickly enough.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Perhaps the worksheet was drafted before Heller and McDonald? :confused5

I expect my kids would laugh out loud if that ever came up in class.

Even the majority opinion in Miller (1939) recognized the individual right of the defendant to bear arms, just that he couldn't prove that a sawed off shotgun had a use in a "militia". So it can't be that the worksheet is outdated.

The more of this crap I hear, the more likely I am going to home school my daughter when she is old enough....

Hey, we're the left wing in 2013 America! We get to decide what reality is, even if it means lying to children!

Heller was in 2008... Do you really thing it'd take someone 5 years to notice?

Well, DC and Chicago don't seem to have noticed...at least not in any practical sense -- so yeah, I could see that nobody noticed.

I wonder how teaching that we don't really have any 4th amendment rights, or 1st amendment rights would go over?
American by birth, Texan by the grace of God!
