Kids' Baseball

Post by joeybcdt »

We have two venues in town that concern me.

1. Little League. Fields are leased for $1.00 / year from the local school district. There is a "No alcohol, tobacco, or firearms" sign posted. No 30.06. This is not school sponsored.

2. City owned outdoor municipal baseball park. Again, a "No alcohol, tobacco, or firearms" sign posted, no 30.06.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. It is my understanding that since there is no 30.06 sign and since 30.06 signs only pertain to interior of buildings and since neither venue is school sponsored it's ok to carry.

Are these games a school function?

No. Totally independent of school. Little League just leases the property from the school.

If not a school function, and you are carring under CHL, you are good to go.

Careful now...

The school prohibition is for "premises", a building or portion of a building.

However, 30.06 is for "property".

Agreed, but keep it holstered regardless of what the umpire calls a strike! :biggrinjester:
