New gun show at Live Oak, TX- short report
That's on the NE side of San Antonio. Texas Gun used to have shows there but word was the civic center had been sold so they wouldn't be back. Evidently the deal fell through. I saw a billboard for a show there by Liberty Gun Shows. Looking at their web page ( http://libertygunshow.com/) looks like a new venture.

Re: New gun show at Live Oak, TX
interesting ....I read in the local paper that the center had been sold, that UC either didn't own it anymore or didn't have the lease or something like that and they had to sell it...It had been sold to a group that bought it to develop it as a shopping center...it was going to be called Retama something
I'm happy if it's going to be left alone....maybe the quilt show will remain here too

Re: New gun show at Live Oak, TX
Looks like REATA investment bought it and on their web site it show that Texas Gun Show is back on May 25-26.
Re: New gun show at Live Oak, TX
The Liberty gun show is this weekend. And scheduled for June and July. The texasgunshows.com web site doesn't list any shows for the SA area.Texascrewser wrote:Looks like REATA investment bought it and on their web site it show that Texas Gun Show is back on May 25-26.
The City of Live Oak web site no longer has any links for the civic center so looks like it has been sold. Maybe REATA is just going to continue as is for a while.

REATA / Retama close enough....
I did read the article several months ago, but it did say it was going to be yet another shopping center,

Here is the link i found it on: http://www.loccevents.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Re: New gun show at Live Oak, TX
Didn't see that one. Maybe texasgunshows.com just hasn't updated. Liberty has shows scheduled next three months. If TGS does even bi-monthly that's going to be overkill.Texascrewser wrote:Here is the link i found it on: http://www.loccevents.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: New gun show at Live Oak, TX - visit report
Yep, it's posted. It was smaller than the Texas Gun Shows but it is their first one. There was a computer show taking up about a third of the hall, separated by temp walls of course. I'd say there was about six actual FFL dealers and the other 20-30 tables were the usual characters.SATX-Scrub wrote:Would someone let us know if its posted 30.06 now that its privately owned. TIA
Might go to the next one to see if it grows. For sure if I win the AR.

Re: New gun show at Live Oak, TX - visit report
I just got back. You're right about the usual bunch of early morning walmart shoppers reselling the ammo they got for 4-5 times the price. With gun prices settling down, I was surprised to see so many overpriced guns. I hope this grows and develops some competition, else my returning isn't in the cards.jmorris wrote:Yep, it's posted. Re: New gun show at Live Oak, TX- short report
Gun shows don't appeal to me like they used to since the whole shortage/gun-frenzy. Seems like everyone is trying to make a quick buck. Including those Wal-Mart ammo hoarders/resellers. Guns are overpriced, and ammo is, too. Though ammo was a bit more overpriced already at gun shows, but not like this. I can't wait til people have so much supply and not enough demand to buy at these horrible prices.
These people really make me sick and these people buying at these horrendous prices make me sicker.
I'll wait til fall/winter or perhaps next year to get a new investment or to start stocking up on more ammo here.

Re: New gun show at Live Oak, TX- short report
FEAR is driving this shortage, until this fear is resolved people will buy and hoard ammo. Every time a scum demo yaps about a new gun control scam the people will buy even more.
