Liability Insurance for Instructors

Post by thetexan »

Is it typical that CHL instructors carry liability or malpractice insurance to cover them against people taking them to court for responsibility for one of their past students using their gun in a injury or killing situation?

Is it really necessary?

I think every business should have liability insurance, but for your specific question I refer you to Texas Government Code 411.208

My recommendation is to get the insurance from the NRA (if you're an instructor). It covers not just NRA classes, but ANY firearms classes you teach.
