Why did she refuse to even touch the package? The postal worker claimed, “Because of my religious beliefs, I cannot process your package.”

I ran into an idi.... err, "rouge" worker at UPS the other day who recoiled like I was shipping a box of live cobras when he saw the 4 ten round magazines in the box. No way! He wasn't licensed, etc and I don't know what all.
I took the box to the post office, no problem.

Yup...good point. I guess my point is if you can't stomach the goods or services you are peddling, it may be time to find another line of work.SQLGeek wrote:Private vs quasi-public institution?Redneck_Buddha wrote:This same card has been played by pharmacists who refuse to fill prescriptions for the morning after pill, so....

A pharmacist should be required to follow their employer's policies regarding all prescriptions, including the morning after pill. If, however, the pharmacist IS the owner, then they have the right to not stock and/or fill medications they have objections to. If a patron doesn't like it, they are free to seek a different pharmacy.Redneck_Buddha wrote:Yup...good point. A prescription is not needed for that. It can be bought over the counter.Redneck_Buddha wrote:This same card has been played by pharmacists who refuse to fill prescriptions for the morning after pill, so....

I can not believe that the postal worker wasn't terminated. But on the other hand she is probably a union worker and no matter what the level of incompetency she will be there forever until the USPS goes bankrupt. And that may not be too far from the present. Perhaps this is why so much of my mail is either misdelivered or lost- the letter carrier has a religious exception to my mail.
