Professor on leave for tweet about NRA

Post by VoiceofReason »

I did due diligence on this. If it is running elsewhere please delete it.

The University of Kansas has placed a journalism professor on leave because of a tweet he wrote this week after the Navy Yard shooting.
http://www.kansascity.com/2013/09/19/44 ... essor.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

David W. Guth tweeted "blood is on the hands of the #NRA. Next time, let it be YOUR sons and daughters" after Monday's shooting in Washington, D.C., in which 13 people died, including the gunman.

Edited to add: I have come to the conclusion that some people should never be allowed to even handle a gun. This fool is one of them.

Andrew Sullivan said basically the same thing in an Anderson Cooper episode that was posted here earlier. He said pro gun advocates should at least take ownership of all the deaths caused by guns. It's how liberals think.
The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison

From what I have seen, they don't think. They pretty much are driven by emotion. :banghead: :banghead:

Why should I take ownership for something I had nothing to do with when the president won't take ownership for what his cabinet does? That one ticked me off.

If anyone, shouldn't this be on Clinton since he made it a gun free zone?

:iagree: It's also like saying with all the knife crime in England, people who eat with knives should take responsibility for the deaths caused by them. Kitchen knife sales are regulated in the UK, nobody under 18 can buy them. Yet they have about 1,000 knife crimes per month in London alone.

I do not associate with criminals, and I do not have mentally ill friends or family, so why am I responsible for their crimes?! I don't even have a speeding ticket on my record! ((( knock wood)))
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Perhaps the stench of this fool's comments (can't call it thinking) ought to be applied to professors everywhere.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
