Ted Cruz rally

Post by striker55 »

Wondering about carrying at a political rally in Houston? I'm thinking it would matter mostly where its held. King Street Patriots Headquarters, tonight. I read an article that Mr. Cruz had received a death threat and I'm concerned about heavy police presence or possibly metal detectors.

I was going to say there's been mention of threats against him, that were being investigated. If he's showing up at this rally I'd think security is more tight and it might be more of an issue.

If the State Capitol building recognizes that a CHL = "Not a threat", I would hope that a Ted Cruz rally would reach the same conclusion.

See you're using facts and logic. Thats just only going to get you in trouble... :biggrinjester:

Of course we should remember he's a US senator, not a local politician. The two are not the same.

I'm assuming its not illegal to carry to a political rally. Its one thing to be turned away from the door because I'm carrying but another thing if unlawful.

I find nothing in CHL-16 that prohibits carry in that situation. Just my opinion, IANAL.

I'd be prepared to take it back to the car. I read somewhere the FBI is working some major death threats surrounding him. Last night I read some nasty comments on FB before I clicked out of it....I'm assuming that's where they're coming from?

That's good news. If I was turned away because of my CHL, that would affect my support of a politician the same way it would affect my support of a 30.06 business.

Ted really stood his ground the past few weeks, but i fear he lost more than he gained. The whole group of thieves will be off most of December so we will be right back in the thick of crud come jan 16th

I'm not so sure about that. He may be on the front of the wave over the whole Obamacare issue.

It is good that the whole group of thieves is off in December. That should make imagination and the other shenanigans that they want to get into harder to do.

I'm thrilled that there were not issues with CC at the Cruz rally. His security team needs to take the death threats seriously but the CHLs in Texas are not part of that problem.
