Ok, I am not down with the "short list", but I am not going bust Dreyfuss's chops either. They are not legislators making policy, they two celebs talking politics, and that fact that Drefuss pushed back against Piers Morgan and touted the NRA as more trustworthy than the government, in the popular media no less, is a huge net plus. I'll bet Piers just about burst a blood vessel!
The gun community often gets a case of "true believer" and carried away with purity, and fails to recognize or take advantage of political opportunities - or someone who is brave enough to buck the tide.
Dreyfuss also displayed honor a few years ago, when George Clooney made snotty remarks about Charlton Heston after Heston's announcment that he had Alzheimer's. Clooney took a shot at Heston because Heston was president of the NRA. Dreyfuss took the time to write an editorial -- published in National Review Online (ETA: apparently was first published by UPI) -- about what a great actor and classy person Charlton Heston was, and ahow this should be recognized regardless of politics.
Here's some links about that:

Dreyfuss seems to be a stand up guy with the right instincts

, and I am not going to write him off because some of his policy thoughts are not completely kosher.
