Ongoing active shooter at Methodist Stone Oak hospital

Shots have been fired . A close personal friend has been in contact with my wife. She is my daughters best friend's mother. They live in our neighborhood. She's hearing shots but hasn't seen the shooter yet.

Also know the CEO there pretty well. Pray the shooter is stopped.

Hopefully someone will get a chance to stop the shooter whether it be a cop or concerned citizen.

Sounds like they have someone on custody based on scanner traffic and what our friends is telling us via text. I'm sure they are still trying to sort it all out.

there were NO shots fired

speculation on the news is that actually patient-1 over-heard something from patient-2 in another bed; patient-1 called a friend, told them what he/she had heard, friend called the police and panic ensued. In other words it was a grand game of Telephone.

SAPD just posted on FB that they are doing a room-by-room clearing just to be "super cautious"

At the time, someone within the building that was hiding in place as instructed heard what she thought was shots. She was texting my wife as it was going down. What she heard turned out to not be shots. Thank God!

You more than anyone should understand the confusion when something like that is transpiring. We'll have to wait to see the affidavits and full investigation reports to know all the facts.

So if we were to believe what we read as the absolute facts there was a shooting, when it turned out to really be hearsay that is unfounded? That is what i say all the time, lets get the facts and not everything we read on the internet is the truth

I wasn't getting my info from the internet. I was getting it from someone in the hospital as it was happening and listening to the police scanner. Also, what I was posting was contemporaneous and not what was being reported days later with video tape to support the reports.

I won't go any further than this as I don't want this to turn into another argument. One thing I will say, never let a crisis go to waste when you can try to use it to prove a point.

Next time dont make it one when somebody asks if it is a shooting or not.....instead of saying it was false info you had to make your smart comment..... re read your reply in case you forgot what it was. ?....if it was a false alarm, what was the crisis
