Texas: Homeowner 1: BG 0 (video)

Post by Beiruty »

In Texas,
A burglary suspect is dead after an early morning confrontation with a homeowner and his son at their Van Zandt County, Texas, residence Tuesday.

The homeowner, who did not wish to share his name, told reporters that he was sitting in a recliner in his house when he heard the suspect’s truck drive down the rural road around 4 a.m. When he looked outside, he saw the suspect rummaging through the homeowner’s truck in front of his house.

Idiot should have kept running. The young man did what he had to do but you could tell he was not at all happy about having to take a life. I see counseling in his future.

I saw tears in his eyes.

I can say first hand it is not pleasant (as TV portrays) having to use deadly force resulting in a dead person lying at your feet. I know I said a quick prayer after it was over.

That's a heck of a shot from 40 yards in the dark with your Dad's life in the balance. I wish everyone shared the Sheriff's views.

I have had my finger on the trigger but fortunately I have never had to pull it. I thank God for that often. I can't imagine what the young man is going through but I know you can. This evening I will remember you both in my prayers. Be safe out there TJ.
