Another Semi-Quarterly Elm Fork Skeet Shoot?

Post by C-dub »

I mentioned this to Pawpaw yesterday and he's ready again.

How about another skeet shoot sometime in mid to late March on either Saturday or Sunday morning?

Yep! I need to get some more trigger time on the Browning. It's starting to call my name every time I open the safe. ;-)

I will ride along. I need to shoot both my Beretta shotgun 687EELL and my A400 on some orange disks.

The wife and I want to make this shoot if we can. Neither of us have ever shot skeet and want to try. We have two benefit shoots in march we try to shoot. So might have to miss one of them to make this one.

Sorry, some people use skeet as a generic term. Much like any soft drink is a coke until specified otherwise.

Can we just have a disk thrower and shoot some, not full game just to practice birdshot-shell shooting

To be perfectly honest, that's what really happens when we get together. We do follow the pattern of the game, but it's truly all about having fun, making some smoke, & learning to shoot better.

We've had people out there that have never busted a clay before and others that know the game pretty well. None of us are what anyone would call good. AndyC is the best shot among us. He does a lot of teaching and has the patience of Job with all of us.

If anyone envisioned some kind of formal competition, you're way off the mark. This is a fun time!

I'll second Paw Paw! I've been couple of times and can confirm it's not a competition. My first time was with Andy, Paw Paw and a friend of his who had never shot skeet before . Andy did a great job instructing him as well as myself and Paw Paw. I hadn't shot a shotgun in over years much less a round of skeet! I'll put it this way. It was about 35 degrees with the wind blowing stink (20 -25 MPH and gusting higher) - We had FUN! I just got back from DFW area yesterday and was up the week before as well but, depending on our March schedule I'm going to try to make this one.
C-dub put me down as a possible The only weekend I'm tied up for sure is March 8-9.
