A more sensationalized story which brings up the term "leg warming" for shooting someone in the leg.

Never NEVER go to that mall. SERIOUSLY!

I lived 30 min from that mall. It is a bad scene. When I was a kid we went there to get something from a store (early 90's). We were in there maybe 15 minutes and my dad saw something and took us out of the mall immediately. He fetched the desired item another day. I went back when I was in college with a friend...saw gang and drug scene related stuff everywhere.

NEVER EVER go to that mall!

In the 80s, this was the mall to be in and be seen in, by the early 90s, local gangs took the place over. Almost every major retailer left and the place was like a ghost town until evening when local gangs would gather to peddle drugs and shoot each other. I actually dated a girl that worked at the Baskin Robims in that mall, the owner told them to never keep more than $40 in the register and when you see "them" coming, have the cash ready to give them when they get to the counter. I am a little surprised that place is still open. Haven't been out there in 20 years.

There is a mall in the northern part of Houston, Greenspoint Mall. My dad actually worked the construction of it several decades back (and got hurt doing so but that's another story). For a while, it was a REALLY nice mall. Flash forward some years and downhill it went. At my last duty station, I mentioned that mall to a young airmen I knew was from Houston. He said its now known as GUNSPoint mall, for the obvious reason.
