Gave up my TSRA plate...

Post by OldCannon »

...not that I really wanted to, but I couldn't have two different plates at once, darnit. I'm proud of my medal though, and now my annual plate fee is $0. I'm using smile.amazon.com to generate revenue for the TSRA instead, so there's no net loss for the TSRA! :)

Sounds like you need a second car.

I was one of the first with a TSRA plate...

Love the new plate. Maybe I'll have to step up and get a TSRA plate for myself.

That's a very nice plate and I don't blame you at all for being proud of your medal.

I didn't want a plate with an obvious gun related theme, so I went a bit more subtle one. Also showing a bit of pride, too.

I can't help but wonder how many will figure it out.

And I was right up there after they announced them.

Went to our favorite local diner, the Allen Cafe, yesterday for lunch and wished I had brought my camera. Parked in a row, without any planning or forethought, was an El Camino Conquista in wonderful condition with a TSRA magnet on the tailgate, my car with TSRA license plate and my call K5NRA, and a Ford with an NRA Life Member sticker in the window.

Where the elite meet to eat.

We need some kind of gang sign that we can flash. The whole time we sat there eating I couldn't help but wonder who the others were.

My wife got me USMC plates for my truck last week...they will be here in a week or so. She wanted to surprise me but they told her the plates on my truck were now invalid and that I have to take them off and but the paper tags on until the plates get here...lol

Yup, if you received any "Meritorious Service" medal while serving, you can get a $0 fee plate (Silver Star, Distinguished Service Cross, Bronze Star, etc.). The exact details of why I got mine are actually classified, but it falls under the category of "didn't soil his flight suit AND did the right thing at the right time"

Yep, another one of those defective videos that keep getting blurry.

As proud as I am of the way recent vets are honored, my heart has always gone out to our Vietnam vets who really got a raw deal.
