Bullet barely misses man through hotel window, Georgia man arrested:
http://www.kxxv.com/story/25811293/bull ... n-arrested

Woodway TX:
A Georgia man is behind bars after nearly shooting someone with a stray bullet while practicing his quick draw in a local hotel parking lot.

Police say Christopher Whitley accidentally fired off a round with his 40 caliber Glock handgun in the Extended Stay America parking lot on Woodway Dr. in Woodway.

The bullet went through a guest's window at the La Quinta Inn and Suites a few doors down. No one was hurt, but Whitley was arrested on deadly conduct charges. Police say the bullet from his gun only missed the La Quinta guest by about 18 inches.
...
Based on the trajectory, officers who arrived on scene determined the round came from the direction of the Extended Stay America down the street. They found Whitley in that hotel parking lot, with the gun still in his hand. As soon as an officer started to draw down on him, he dropped the Glock and put his hands up.

Whitley was Immediately arrested and taken into custody.

Hmm lessee guy is responsible for a negligent discharge, but remains in that parking lot long enough for the LEOs to arrive at the other hotel, investigate the shooting, and find him only "a few doors down"? He didn't flee when his gun went-off? He didn't notice the commotion nearby?

Either something is wrong with this account or we have a rock-solid case for World's Dumbest Man! Good grief!

What are the odds that alcohol was involved in this?

And I don't know why it matters it was a Glock. It wasn't the gun's fault its owner is negligent.

Why should he flee? It was only a practice shot.

Man! when was open carrying a pistol and/or drawing from the hip in Motel parking lot is a practice? is the parking lot "a make your own range"? I bet there is more to the story, or the shooter was high on some abused substance.

Remember, this was in Georgia. That is one of the states where the phrase 'Hold my beer and watch this' is frequently heard.

Some might say that about TX too, but they would of course be wrong.

Stupid stupid! Lord have mercy! Guns are not toys! They are tools. Treat them with the same respect you would a chainsaw or an ax. You don't go playing with them in a parking lot. :banghead:

I guess if it was a brand other than Glock we might expect a failure to fire. Because it was a Glock it always goes bang?
