Northwest Harris County: Home Invader Shot

Three men invaded the home around 6:30. The criminals were armed (according to the video), but the article says, "Either the suspect or homeowner had a gun". Either way, there was a struggle between the homeowner and one of the criminals, and a shot was fired injuring another one of the criminals.

Then the uninjured home invaders fled the scene, leaving their brother-in-crime behind.

The comments on the article are just as we'd expect in Texas (although the sarcasm meter is pinging pretty high on these first two):
"If the homeowner would only have complied with the burglars demands, this tragedy could have been avoided."

"The homeowner should've made some coffee and fixed some breakfast before calling the cops. It's the most important meal of the day. "
Lesson learned: always be prepared, even in your own home, and even in the breakfast hours of the morning.
Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
When those fail, aim for center mass.
