I was going to apply for my CHL but about 2 years ago was convicted of a DUI in the state of New Jersey. In New Jersey the offense is classified as a major traffic violation so I have never been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor. Would I be eligible or would I fall under the convicted of class A or B misdemeanor or equivalent offense?
Re: Eligibility
DUI in Texas is a "B" misdemeanor for the first offense so you would have to wait 5 years is the way I read it. I depends on what the conviction is listed in Texas

That depends if New Jersey DUI is the equivalent of Texas DUI or Texas DWI.ccox125 wrote:I was going to apply for my CHL but about 2 years ago was convicted of a DUI in the state of New Jersey.
