Tucker Heritage vs. Tucker The Answer...which one?

Post by Shadowboxer »

OK, I have been going back and forth on which one to order for my Sig 225.

A little background:

I have a comptac Infidel and like the Kydex, but it's not the most comfortable against my body. I have a Milt Sparks for a different sig and it fits my body much better.

So here's the dilema:

The Tucker 'The Answer' (a cross bread of leather and kydex) looks good with the Kydex for the gun, and the leather against the body, but two drawbacks; price and the it *looks* to be a thicker package than the Heritage

The Tucker The Heritage looks great (is a traditional leather IWB), but will the leather wear my gun's finish faster than the Kydex? Also, with my current pieces, the guns seem to unholster easier from the Kydex than the leather.

Any thoughts or direct experiences shared would be greatly appreciated!

I am be old fashion but I do like Leather and the Tucker is a well built and will last for years of service.

So my Vote is for the Tucker.

You might call Bob at Operators edge he is very familiar on the Tuckers and has quite a stock of them,

The base leather on the Answer is about 3/16" to 1/4 thick. I have not held or worn a Heritage but the Tucker HF1 is the same thickness. It is an OWB holster. Rob Latham is on the board here & if you post the Q he will answer it.
All Tucker staff are great & I have never know an owner of "The Answer" to have anything but praise for it. They all say it is worth every penny & the weight. I have never worn one.

I have a C-Tac and an Answer that I split time with. The Answer is VERY comfortable and the extra thickness is not noticed. Both are great holsters. My C-Tac seems to have better retention properties than my Answer however. YMMV

So, between the Tucker Heritage and the Tucker Answer, you'd take the Tucker?

I have several more Texas Heritage holsters, but for the 1911 I have both the Texas Heritage and the Answer.

I favor the Texas Heritage slightly on comfort but one handed reholstering is almost impossible.

Some place more importance on that than I do.

Since I have four TH and one Answer, I guess I've already voted for the Texas Heritage.

Lookie what showed up Friday!! A Tucker "The Answer".

So far I've worn it exclusively and it's very comfortable. I like the fact that I don't have to string it onto my pants like my other IWB holster with belt loops. It's real quick to slip on, tighten the belt, then drop my hi-power into it. It's also very sturdy and does not move.

I carry a Sig P229R in a Tucker Answer. Its thinner than the Comp-Tac Infidel which is now in my dresser drawer, about to find its way up for sale.

Go with the Answer, its truly a work of art. The "extra thickness" is a little far fetched if you ask me, as the kydex is thinner than the leather and the kydex hugs the gun EXCEPTIONALLY well. It fits 10x better in the Answer than the Infidel.

This is the second Answer I've owned, and from now on, I'm not going to waste my money buying anything else. I even got mine 2 months early this time around!! :)

I have one Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 for my 1911, I have one Brommeland Max Con V for my XD45, but I have 3 Tucker Heritages for my Ruger SP-101, CZ75 & my Taurus Pt-145. The Tucker's are great holsters and I really like the way they feel.

Go with the Heritage....you will not be disappointed!!!

What's up with the operators edge website? It looks like a simple mockup instead of a full fledged site.

I think they are still getting it setup. I would imagine holsters and all should be up on there soon.
