I bought my first 1911 today.

Put 100rnds through it at the range just a few hours ago and I already love it.

Once I find my camera I'll try and post a few pics.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Wise choice.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

1911's and Revolvers are pure pleasure to shoot. One can never have too many of either. Well, actually I have 3 of each and the wife thinks that's plenty.

Congrats on your 1911!

Bought my first 1911 a couple of weeks ago. I have shot it a few times since and really do love it. My wife has shot it and likes it to. (I posted that in another thread.) We are going out tomorrow again and I'm sure she will want to shoot it again. I will let her but will give the "IT'S NOT YOURS" speech prior. We'll see how long that lasts.

Hopefully, just long enough to convince her that you need to buy another one so you have matching "His" and "Hers" pistols.

Already started on that. I got "the look". So we will just share the two I've got now for a while. That and the money tree hasn't grown any new dollar bills lately.

Can't be from lack of rain so it must be lack of fertilizer. Mine has the same problem at times.
