DO YOU KEEP A BUG-OUT BAG READY TO GO ?

Post by TIN BENDER »

I never thought about it before but I guess some quick exit STUFF would be a good idea.
What would you take? And what kind of bag would you use?
Just lookin' for some of your ideas.
Thanks

Doesn't everybody? :skep:

Kimberly and I can be packed and out of the house in a couple of minutes with our dogs and everything we need to survive for three days with no outside assistance. I consider three days an absolute minimum if you live on the coast.

I have bug out "baglets" that I can toss into a big bag, depending on what I need.

I have a baglet full of ammo, one full of a weeks worth of medication, one full of nonperishable food, and one full of a few days of clothes, one full of copies of paperwork (house title, etc) and one full of some basic electronic equipment that can be helpful Like a GPS that has waypoints for my house, my inlaws house and my parents house, and friends' houses.

My wife and I have one each. We carry a change of clothes, 3 days worth of meals, first aid kit, and other electronics.

We stocked them last year and keep them at the ready. With Tornado/huricane season hitting we like being ready.

Every now and then we will grab the bags and head out for a few days and go camping.

Yes.

Ammo.
Ammo.
Ammo.

Keep a tactical shootgun, Ruger mini-14, and pistolas ready to rock in the safe. These are separate from my normal carry and home defense weapons.

Other stuff is ready to put in the vehicles. Food, drink, doesn't take long for clothes.

Meds are all together.

One thing everybody should think about is keeping a backup of your data/photos on CD/DVD

data/photos can be impossible to replace.

Government suggestions can be found here:

They don't mention guns, but I figure that ya'll got that covered already

I have set up an emergency communications network. It involves people who don't even know each other that have all agreed to be a point of contact for each other in case of emergency.

I figure the best chance of its use is during another hurricane, but I can see other potentials.

TIN BENDER, Montague, where are you going to "Bug Out" to?
I think you are already there brother! What you need is a good perimiter defense plan and some "You Loot, We Shoot" signs.
Got any room for some of the rest of us that might have to flee our area?(Houston)

Exactly what I was thinking! I was hoping to drop in on the CHL'ers in DFW in time of trouble :)
