No Longer WTB: Ruger SP101 .357 mag

Post by LSUTiger »

EDIT: I am no longer looking to buy an SP101 at this time. All the holiday cheer took its toll on my finances. All is not lost, at least I have a new Barbie Dream House and tons of accessories to play with. :anamatedbanana NOT! Thanks to all who responded.

I'm looking to buy a Ruger SP101 .357 mag. Preferably the 5718 or 5719 in 2.25 and 3.06" barrels, but I will consider all models.

5718 357 Mag 5 Black Ramp Fixed 2.25"
5719 357 Mag 5 Black Ramp Fixed 3.06"
5720 357 Mag 5 Black Ramp Fixed 2.25" hammerless
5771 357 Mag 5 Fiber Optic Adjustable 4.20"

Sorry, no help. But I love that revolver. At one time I owned three (all 2.25" -- two in .357 (one hammerless and one with hammer) and one of the old .22 LR versions. I traded the .357 with the hammer for a Sig, and I need to keep the other two SP101s. One is my main carry these days, and the other is its .22 LR training twin. I carry them in a Deep Conceal cotton/nylon/velcro shoulder holster. It is sort of like weak side super-appendix carry. Being rather skinny, the revolver rides perfectly against my ribs, below my left pectoral muscle. I access it by reaching into my shirt (helped by leaving one shirt button unbuttoned). It is the perfect compromise of deep concealment and quick potential accessibility, especially when seated.

Anyway, good luck.

By 'hammerless' do you mean 'spurless'?

If so, I have one, and it cannot be cocked, but must be used in a DA status only.

Funny thing is, it's quite accurate even at fair distance.

Very short barrel and all that, but very easy to shoot.

Ah, I should point out, I rarely shoot anything but .38 specials through it as the .357 mags are brutal to shoot.
