Bloomberg group to "educate" journalists about guns

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Bloomberg group to "educate" journalists about guns

Post by A-R »

SE Cupp wrote:But, sadly, my excitement was short-lived: “This workshop is being made possible by a generous grant from Everytown for Gun Safety.”

Wait, what? On what planet is it ethical to allow controversial activists — ones with a partisan point of view — to fund an educational forum meant to teach journalists “facts” about guns and gun violence? Columbia University, what on earth are you thinking?

SE Cupp should know better. The anti-gun whackos aren't interested in the truth, and neither is the liberal arts department at any university. They can call it "education" but that doesn't change the fact that they are merely repackaging their lies with the sole purpose of advancing their agenda of outlawing self-defense.

Glad to read that the author of the article will offer a "balance" based on his own beliefs to the group.

I went back and read the entire article. Looks like SE Cupp will be speaking at the education camp. That's a plus. I did chuckle though at the notion of a "reputable journalism school." Maybe notorious would be a better word choice.

educate = indoctrinate? Bloomberg is a waste of DNA and oxygen. I can only hope Wanda Sykes thoughts spill over onto Bloomberg... soon, very very soon.

I can't post the link but a news story I saw the other day
Described the firearm used in a crime as "a .40 caliber Luger
Pistol."

I'm sure Bloomie's class will school the press with more
muddled definitions.

To be fair most of the journalists who will attend will already have a biased and negative view of firearms.

OK, a confession.....I took SE Crupp at face value and the actual situation with this propaganda is much worse than it would seem from Crupp's article:

http://weaponsman.com/?p=20232
Imagine how much better they’ll do with Bloomberg funding and pulling Shapiro’s strings?

You don’t have to imagine, you can go to the Dart Center and see what they’re all about, and try to G-2 the postgraduate course in slanted gun reporting that they’ll be running from April 13-17. Thirty good liberal anti-gun reporters will be accepted to attend, and half of them will get $350 in Hizzonner$ walking-around money.

Or you can try to count the buzz phrases in the Dart Center’s announcement of the seminar:

Every day, 86 Americans die of firearm related injuries, including nearly 12,000 murdered with guns each year – a rate 20 times higher than that of other developed countries. Nearly 100 school shootings have occurred since the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary only two years ago.
A couple of tag lines from the link above that are good to remember:
Journalism, n. A job for people who flunked out of STEM courses, enjoy making up stories, and have no detectable integrity or morals.
Reporters? The enemy. Don’t talk to them under any circumstances.

having Bloomberg teach about guns is like asking a politician to never lie.
