0340 (3:40 am for you civilian types) 14 Jan 15: The kidnapper took her to other banks and forced her to withdraw money. At one point the kidnapper left the car and she was able to escape the trunk and go to a convenience store in Euless, where she called police. Police did not find the car where she escaped it but recovered it later.
The police believe the same thug robbed another man at that same ATM one hour earlier.
$1000 if you can finger the thug for police.

If you're not in the military and subject to the UCMJ, you are a civilian.

And yes, he is a moron.

Been using 24 hour clock since long before I was ever in the military, some of us civilians actually understand it, and I keep my watch set to it as well as several clocks in my house.ELB wrote:

if you can walk out of your job your a civilian, no matter what dictionary you care to use, word usage changes just like the fickle beliefs of children. A civilian is someone who is NOT part of a legal military, police are civilians fire fighters are civilians. It is even in the US Code and Texas statutes that police, fire, ems are civilian and CIVIL SERVANTS NOT anything else. Just Alqeda and ISIS are CIVILIANS but by your definition they aren't, hmm yea everybody want to be special some of em ride the short bus too

I was just quoting common usage. Are you saying I want to be "special" because I posted the dictionary definition?JP171 wrote:G26ster wrote:From several dictionaries:wheelgun1958 wrote:If you're not in the military and subject to the UCMJ, you are a civilian.

no G26 I am not, but rather that those that swear a blue streak that they aren't a civilian because they are a cop/FF/EMS/Dog catcher street sweeper are. Comon usage has been driven by local law enforcement/FF/EMS/DC/SS that they are not civilian when they are in fact are civilians. it boils down to this if you can walk off of your job and not be forcefully brought back and charged with a crime you are a civilian no if's and's or but's
