Smith & Wesson 637 Airweight Holster Options

Post by StormDizzle91 »

Well I recently bought a S&W 637 Airweight .38 Special snub nose revolver. I got it for a couple of reasons, one of which is another option for concealed carry and the other to get started into revolvers as I have very very little to no experience with revolvers.
Besides all of that I was wondering if anyone had any good holster options for the 637 airweight, local shops in my area do not carry many if any holsters for the 637, 2" model. I ended up getting a Galco IWB Kydex holster as a start. I'm very familiar with that carry method as that is my usual method of carry for my other two pistols (XDS 45 and Colt 1911 5") But I also have a leather OWB holster for my 1911 and that is what I was hoping to find for my 637.

So firstly any recommendations from ya'll on best method or carry location for the 637 from experience? (Concealed carry options of course)
And any good recommendations for holsters? Specifically good leather OWB holsters that allow for easy conceal-ability?

I'll just say I wouldn't use a clip on style holster for CC. I never had a problem with one in EDC, or so I thought, but then I took an advanced handgun class. Twice during the two day class my clip on holster came out still attached to the gun during a draw. Once was enough. I've come to prefer OWB holsters like the one pictured in the post above. I don't find that much difference in concealment, especially with a small gun like a snubbie.

I took her out to the range today and out of the 20+ practice draws I did I didn't have a problem with the clip failing, but I also clip it to my belt along with my pants. But that is the reason I am looking for a good OWB holster and a leather one because it's quieter than kydex, usually tighter to the body making it easier to conceal and it's nicer on the finish of your weapon. With that being said I don't mind this IWB kydex I have now, but still want a good OWB leather one.
And I do like that Don Hume one a lot.
