Ft. Worth Main Street Arts Festival
Is this event posted with 30.06 signs for the 2015 event? If no 30.06 signs, I assume that it's OK to carry if I have a CHL? I've heard about signs in previous years saying "no weapons", but wanted to check for sure this year - I'm taking the train there and wont have a place to store my weapon if I get over there and see a sign. Thanks!
What's in it for me ?

FWIW, attendance is free and it is a public area. I doubt they could restrict a CHL from entry and I didn't see any mention of weapons or firearms on their website.
Also, signs stating "no firearms allowed" are not sufficient notice per 30.06 and are of no consequence to a CHL holder.

Plus, if it's like other similar venues, it may be held in the middle of a closed street. If so, then that street is likely to be owned by the city (by likely, I mean about 99.9999999% probable), which would make any attempt at a 30.06 posting by the event coordinator invalid.

Re: Ft. Worth Main Street Arts Festival
Thanks guys - normally, I'd just go back to the car and drop the gun if I ran into an unanticipated 30.06 sign - but since we're taking the TRE over and back, I won't have any place to stash my gun.

Main Street Arts takes place on Main Street. It's not posted - it's a steeet, and couldn't legally be posted. And, you know that the TRE is CHL-friendly, too, right?

I think the point was that riding the TRE means that there is no car to use for storage in case a sign is found.n5wd wrote:Main Street Arts takes place on Main Street. It's not posted - it's a steeet, and couldn't legally be posted. And, you know that the TRE is CHL-friendly, too, right?

I've gone and carried with no problems. It's a great way to spend the day, and a lot of fun. Enjoy!
