Does anyone know if the center is a no CHL zone. Gotta go to grandson's graduation ceremony there.

Owned by the Garland Independent School District, the center was built to host graduations and other school district events.....
I would NOT carry there.... School district "premises". See 46.03 and 46.035.

:iagree: with Roy. And since it's a school sponsored event, that makes 2 strikes against carrying, IMO.

After the shooting by militants a couple of weeks ago there is SWAT teams, extra police, and they said that they would be using metal detectors as well as searches.

It is a School sponsored event so that alone is a disqualifier.

Just to add, even if it wasn't a school graduation, the center itself is 30.06 posted and has metal detectors you have to pass through at any event held there. You can store your gun in your vehicle in the parking lot if you feel comfortable doing so.
