For those of you concerned about mass shootings

Post by baldeagle »

5 Things Obama Didn’t Mention When He Blamed America for the Charleston Shooting

Bottom line? Anti-gunners will ALWAYS lie to further their agenda.

The five main points of the article are:
1. The Frequency of Mass Shootings in America is Rare
2. Mass Shootings are Not Significantly on the Rise
3. Gun Violence is Down. Way, Way Down.
4. Gun Violence is Not the Only Kind of “Mass Violence”
5. U.S. Homicide Rate Does Not Reflect Its High Gun Ownership in Global Context

Even if none of that were true... The reality is that....

Laws do not stop criminals.

Murder is already illegal.
Purchase/Possession of a gun by an accused/indicted felon is already illegal.
Carry in Church in SC, unless specifically authorized, is already illegal.

How many more laws that infringe on the law abiding do we need to pass before we realize that the law abiding are not the problem and "more laws" is not the solution?

Thanks for the article link.... bookmarked for future reference.

I worry about vans and cars,

At SXSW in Austin a car driver drove into a crowd
SXSW: driver kills 2, injures 23 after crashing
AND NOW THIS
BREAKING: 2 dead, up to 50 wounded in van+knife attack

Edited to UPDATE (3 dead, not two)
& provide English version link
3 killed after man drove into crowd before stabbing bystanders http://pamelageller.com/2015/06/vehicul ... s-by.html/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The ultimate Progressive objective is of course to ban citizens from owning any kind of firearm - they keep working toward that goal.

Communists and socialists do not like for THEIR public to be armed. It is so inconvenient for their plans. Now in my opinion if everyone in that SC church was armed the shooter probably would not have killed as many and likely would have been afraid to try. Evil is usually a coward unless odds are largely stacked in their favor. Arm everyone who does not have a criminal or mental record. I'll bet people would treat each other better then.

Some very positive points are made, partially diluted by the Progressive term "Gun Violence" being used. Call me a stickler, but I bristle when terminology promoted by those who want to strip individual rights is adopted mainstream.

We all know their ultimate goal is to take away all of our guns, then when those are gone, they'll work at taking away anything else we can use to defend ourselves from their tyranny. My gun protects my freedom and way of life. Try to take away my guns, and you're trying to take away my freedom and way of life. That's what makes them all criminals in my mind.

I agree, but I wasn't going to falsely "quote'" the article. I thought about adding a note to that line, but I'm a stickler for accuracy.

Be like in the old west before a gun fight -

"Mister Good Citizen, before you face Six Gun Killer Joe on main street today you must leave your gun with the sheriff; just hope for the best buddy! It'll work out...OH, DONT FORGET 911!"
