So I've taken the class for a permit. I've gone to enter my information for the application but I ran into a problem. I have a temp drivers license. It has my new DL number on it. I just moved here not too long ago. On my temporary license it says I'll get my real DL in 30-60 days. So now I am disarmed even longer. I'm really starting to hate this unconstitutional permit system. Anyway, I digress, it asked for a DL number/audit number. I entered my DL number at the top and it ask for it again or the audit. I have no idea what the audit number is and there isn't another number on the temporary license. I even looked at my old NC license and it didn't have this. I entered the DL number again and it said it wasn't long enough.
So it seems I am disarmed until I get my real license and then disarmed even longer waiting for my CHL...I mean hell I don't even have the option for constitutional open carry like in NC. I'm really frustrated guys. I have already took a class in NC and owned a NC CC license. Now I have to do it again(which I've already taken the class here) and again I have to beg for my 2A rights. Am I just an idiot and I'm missing something with the audit number? I guess I could have just asked that instead of writing a book. lol

Re: CHL form question
the audit number is found on a picture DL, since you say you only have a temp one.... its a long number usually at the bottom of the picture or on the bottom of the license... DPS uses the DL picture on the CHL license, my CHL has the the original picture from 15 years ago... so unfortunately you will have to wait unless you can contact DPS to get the number... sorry

Welcome to the Forum. If your NC license is still good, then you can carry concealed with it. Texas recognizes NC licenses. You need to see if your NC license became void when you changed residency to Texas.

Just trying to help out here....NC was my home state for a while.
According to HandgunLaw US, the NC permit appears to expire once NC is no longer the holders state of residency:
http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/northcarolina.pdf
Non-Resident Permits
North Carolina does not issue Permit/Licenses to Non-Residents.
A further check of the exact NC statutes would be the next step to confirm.

Re: CHL form question
Maybe something will happen to me and I'll be the reasons laws change lmao. This is ridiculous guys. I might try to apply for Arizona, maybe they don't need the audit number and it works for Texas. NC has expired now that I have a Texas license. I shouldn't have to pay for my rights, twice at that.

Re: CHL form question
Arizona non resident does not have a picture on it.... so for 60 bucks its a good deal.... plus your CHL-100 is valid for proof of proficiency... got mine in about 6 weeks after applying
