I didn't do an exhaustive search to see if someone else has posted this, but thought I would bring this to everyone's attention.
I was running errands yesterday and carrying concealed. I stopped by the Edwards Houston Marq'E 23 IMAX & RPX at 7620 Katy Fwy. Houston, Tx. 77024.
This is my go to movie destination. I wanted to check and see if they had a properly posted 30.06 sign. They had what looks like an improper 30.06 sign.
It was posted in two places high on the glass, with a symbol of a gun with a red line drawn thru it. Also, the letters were NOT 1" high. I took a pic but with the clear glass background, it did not show up well. I chose not to enter.
Not sure if I would have been in violation by doing so.
They had a more recent sign regarding checking bags and purses.

Re: Improper 30.06 sign
You will likely get a variety of responses here from don't go in if they even have a gunbuster on principle to walk right in unless it meets exact requirements as stated in the law. My approach in these situations is if they use the correct wording and it's posted where I see it on my way inside, I don't carry there. Unless it clearly has wrong wording or is posted somewhere inside the building where I don't immediately notice it, I don't carry.Tacomaman wrote:I didn't do an exhaustive search to see if someone else has posted this, but thought I would bring this to everyone's attention.

Re: Improper 30.06 sign
If I wasn't specifically searching for the sign, I could have easily missed it. It was well above my 6'2" frame.
Since I am new to concealed carry, I would not risk being in violation of the law.

My wife and I carry in that location all the time. The sign is VERY small (about the size of an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper), placed high up, and the letters are barely legible. I recommend you visit www.texas3006.com to read more about it. The additional comments page for that theater is also very informative: http://www.texas3006.com/additionalcomm ... ntryid=719
