ok... i know i cant' be the only one out there that does this so speak up.
Ever since i really got serious about concealed carry my mind has never ever stopped obsessing about designing THE perfect way/method/holster to carry concealed. I lay up some nights racking my brain and mentally strapping a holster to various parts of my body in various positions and ask myself each time...
Would this work? Would it be comfortable? Would it be accessible? Would I be able to reach it from any position? What about driving/sitting?
I've actually sat down to sketch out a few holster designs and am thinking about talking to a leather guy i met a while back to maybe make them.
Am i the only one looking for the holy grail?
(i know it doesn't exist)

Don't stop losing sleep and obsessing! That's how new inventions and designs come into being for those of us for whom sleep (and maybe age) overrides creativity.
Seriously, many--if not most--new CHL holders go through an inescapable period of searching for the right gun(s) and right carry method(s) for them. I think the ones most concerned about "printing" battle this phase hardest.
In a perfect world, you'd have either unlimited funds with which to experiment, or a lending library of the world's handguns and holsters. 'Course, we have neither. That's one huge benefit a Forum like this affords us: we get to ask questions and read the experienced opinions of others.
But with so many defensive firearms to choose from (thank you, advances in CAD/CAM and CNC) and so many methods/devices for concealed carry, I've really come to believe this is one of the most personal decisions a person can make. Maybe aside from choosing a spouse.
There's the search to find something that works, and then there's the creative stimulus to build something new. If yours is the latter, more power to you. Sleep is overrated!

Go visit these sites about a hundred time. I know I did. I finally found one from another forum member on a diff forum for half what it would new. Just keep looking. Never know when one will pop up for ya.

You guys sound like me searching for the elusive "perfect purse". I have a closet of purses I have bought and some I've never carried. So far ithe perfect purse doesn't exist.
All I really need is my wallet and a lipstick anyway! I end up using a wallet in my back pocket and my lipstick in my front pocket and clipping my keys on my belt loop instead. I don't know why I'm compelled to keep looking for a "perfect purse".

Y'know you've got it bad when the first thing you ask when trying a new carry method is, "Honey, does this holster make me look fat?"

The "Holy Grail" would be a carry rig that will let me stand, walk, stoop, bend, and carry all day without ever noticing, and then when I'm safely buckled into my car after a gut-busting Tex-Mex meal, will spring the gun into my hand as if it was Rob Leatham's racegun rig.
I'm not looking for such a holster to be on the market any time soon...

Purchase a Milt Sparks Summer Special II and a quality GUN belt. The quest will be over.
Save those cheap nylon things for me..I like to donate them....the ladies program at PSC uses them when someone shows up without a holster.

oh, i did call the folks at Sparks. They do sell make 24/7 holsters, but they dont have the OSS which i'm going to eventually upgrade to. I think i might hold off on major holster purchases until I get the OSS.

I second the Milt Sparks but I use the VMII with a Kahr CW9. Perfect carry rig for the summer........at least for me.

When shopping or running errands, I wear a small backpack purse. (The gun stays on my hip.) This leaves me with both hands available.
(For going out, it's whatever purse matches the outfit.)
