Who runs hospitals in Texas? Antigun leftists?
They all have 30.06 and now 30.07 postings?
What culture less non Texans run these hospitals?

The hospital and the outside clinics I go to in East Texas do not have any 30.06 signs. So they are not ALL posted.

Private property rights are overwhelmingly supported on this forum you will find out.

As do I. But that's not in question here. What good person that values the right of self defense and understood the importance of the right to keep and bear arms as well as the safety of people going in and out of their property would ban not only the carrying but the licensed carrying of guns?Right2Carry wrote:Private property rights are overwhelmingly supported on this forum you will find out.
In short: specifically going out of your way to post 30-06/07 signs are a leftist political statement.
"No guns" signs are bad enough but at leas, in Texas, they can be construed to add a penalty to criminals who intrude on their property. 30-06 postings specifically target good people

The type of folks that run hospitals are an interesting bunch. Most, I think, are not Texans and the headquarters for many of the hospitals are not within this state. The one I work for is not. The problem really is that, I think, they honestly think these signs will prevent a bad guy from coming in with his or her gun. It's not that they're stupid or anything. They just don't understand the concept of self defense. They think that should always be left to the "professionals."

In the mid-1970s, I was in a meeting at a hospital in East Dallas which was purchased by a company "Hospital Affiliates"Who runs hospitals in Texas?
At the meeting announcing it, someone started laughing, when asked why ... that person said:
Did you say a "House Full of Idiots?" (True story)
==========
The Seton in Highland Lakes didn't used to be posted, now they are (They actually posted 30,06 recently, then removed them and now have the updated 30.06 AND 30.07s up)
Hospitals in Llano and Lampasas weren't a few weeks ago.
One in Round Rock had an outdated 29(ee) a few weeks ago.

Actually 30.07 and 30.06 target good people. There is no difference in the people either of those signs target. The license is the same for both!Doug.38PR wrote:As do I. I agree wholeheartedly. I was just in a hurry typing on my iPhone and used 30-06 as a catch all skipping 07Right2Carry wrote:Actually 30.07 and 30.06 target good people. The Texas Hospital Association is the trade group representing many hospitals throughout the state. They provide a lot of regulatory information to hospital owners, and also provide their membership with "best practices" in clinical, maintenance, financial, and operational aspects - running a hospital is no easy task these days.
THA recommends hospitals post their buildings with 30.06 notifications and, I'm sure, by now, they'll have the new 30.06 and 30.07 notifications ready for their members.
I don't know that it's so much political orientation as the belief that they want their facilities to be havens of healing, and away from the real world as much as possible. Katrina changed a lot of ideas in areas of safety and security, but I don't see THA changing their minds about the 30.06/30.07 notifications anytime soon.

Re: Who runs hospitals in Texas? Antigun leftists?
Well, I spent the day at one of Seton's hospitals in Austin visiting with my brother who is dealing with multiple pulmonary embolisms and DVT in his leg. I assumed the hospital was posted so I left my gun in my car. Even though there were no visible security guards or cops, I went ahead and went in since it was my brother in there. It was a hard decision but I care for my brother enough to take the risk of being unarmed.
Believe it or not, I survived. There were no mass shootings, hospital robbers or other bandits. I thought about just going elsewhere but I realized my brother want elsewhere so I just had to buck up and deal with it.

....selectively. It seems it's ok for the government to tell us what we can do with our property, how to build, where to build, type of construction, and who you must provide service to, etc.Right2Carry wrote:Private property rights are overwhelmingly supported on this forum you will find out.
But don't let government tell you that you cannot exclude licensed firearms carriers, because that's a property right by goodness.
Shouldn't we see them (rights) in the same light?

Like HEB posting 30.07 but mopt 30.06, excluding only open carried handguns so one must wear a jacket or untuck a shirt, they don't prohibit concealed handguns (If I was an open carrier thinking a political statement action would make a difference, I might wear it open, walk up to the door, pull my shirt out and cover it) .. Not worth the battle IMHO, I conceal carry 2 pistols and when I can't, I conceal carry a rifle, I know I have it/them and it isn't that important to me that everyone else know it.chuckybrown wrote:....selectively. Hospitals, and other businesses with 30.06 and 30.07 signs are only prohibiting handguns carried by licensees.
30.06 and 30.07 signs are not prohibiting legally carried concealed rifles carried by anyone who can legally carry a concealed rifle there

Re: Who runs hospitals in Texas? Antigun leftists?
NotRPB,
Please correct me if I'm wrong: Are you advocating carry a concealed long gun where handguns are prohibited?
Or, are you simply saying, one could legally if one wanted to?
If the latter, I don't understand your point?
Thanks!

Mine either and 'that's the way I like it, uh huh, uh huh'. That said if I know there is some procedure or something that will require the old stripperoo, I'll either leave my iron in the truck or hand it to Mrs. Oldgringo.carlson1 wrote:The hospital and the outside clinics I go to in East Texas do not have any 30.06 signs. Mrs. Oldgringo accompanies to the clinic/hospital because I'm to stupid to know what's being said.
