New Year's Eve parties and open carry
When at New Year's Eve parties or observing downtown fireworks, will you be concealed carrying? (Dumb question yeah) bigger question: when the clock hits 12:00 midnight and everybody throws balloons and screams HAPPY NEW YEAR, will y'all be shedding your coats and jackets in celebration to openly reveal your guns that, as of that time, are now legal to be openly seen and carried?

One thing to consider here is that many people are drinking at new year's eve parties. If you are among these, you should not be carrying concealed or otherwise.Doug.38PR wrote:When at New Year's Eve parties or observing downtown fireworks, will you be concealed carrying? On private property, you can carry openly all night long, your bar-b-q gun(s) or anything else.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
Re: New Year's Eve parties and open carry
I generally avoid New Years Eve parties.
Re: New Year's Eve parties and open carry
I want to know how many people get charged in the first month for carrying withOUT a license. As for showing off your stuff at new years parties, well it just seems like silliness to me. Carry concealed as always unless you are NOT the designated driver.

New Years party, alcohol, and OCing a weapon, what could possibly go wrong?

Ha-ha, you should do that as a Wally walk, if they are open.

I've got a job New Year's Eve west of Ft Worth, but I'll be home before dark, not to leave again until 2016.

99% psitive I will also be asleep. The only New Years I've been awake fro in the last 10 years was purely by accident. We were watching a movie on blueray and forgot what time it was. When the movie ended and we turned back to regular television found out it was past midnight.superchief wrote:Easy answer. I'll be asleep.

Re: New Year's Eve parties and open carry
While I do not plan to OC. Last week, I did tell my son that I was planning to watch the fireworks at home and at midnight I was going to tuck my shirt to the inside of my belt holster just because I legally can. Of course, no one will notice because they will be looking up at the fireworks.
P.S. Everyone should know by now that the real NEW YEAR does not start till midnight in Texas!
