I like my DeSantis "Tuck This!", but....

Unless I wear a tshirt tucked in underneath my over shirt (be it a polo, a button-down, or another tshirt), my XD .40 (4") rubs against the skin above my belt line. Only about an inch of the slide touches my skin, and thankfully, God has graced me with a non-sweaty body, so its not THAT bad. Does anyone know of a way to add to my holster for a little skin/gun barrier, or of a comparable holster which I could get instead (comparable by price AND style). Thanks for any help.

I was look at the same of holster and was told about http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/holster/44.htm they also come in Kydex and hopefully are a little cheaper then the leather. I'm sure you could have something added to your current holster maybe at a shoe repair shop.[/url]

What about moleskin? I have used it w/tight shoes before where the heel strikes the back of my ankle. It is in the foot products section (with callous bandaids and foot powders). It is cut to fit and one side is sticky so it will stick on and protect the other side from getting chaffed. I don't know if it would work but it might be a cheap alternative to try.

The moleskin may work.

I'd suggest staying with the undershirt. Maybe try a different type if you are using regular cotton T. I have some by Zanshen that work great. They allow the skin to slide past the holster, so the edge doesn't dig in.

Some holsters come with the sweatshield/sweatguard that extends all the way up to keep the slide from direct contact with the body. That gets in the way for me. My drawstroke incorporates the high thumb at #1.

I vote for the undershirt or T-shirt as the best solution. Your issue isn't exclusive to the DeSantis holster...any IWB, with long-term wear, is going to cause an amount of friction if you don't have a layer of something in between the holster and your skin, IMHO.

You have a lot of options with hi-tech fibers now. You could always look for a Coolmax(r) undershirt that would never feel clamy against your skin and would never show under a polo or T-shirt. Now, if you normally wear Everlast "Big Gym" sleeveless muscle shirts, you're outta luck.

P.S. Can the guy in the DeSantis photo with the tie showing be printing any more than that?

Anybody Tried High Noon?

The Closing Argument from High Noon has protection from rubbing against the body. Has anyone tried this one?
