I missed a 06 and 07 signs almost all weekend
My daughter plays soccer here in Dallas and we traveled to San Antonio this weekend for a tournament, they posted both signs on the outside fence as you pull into the fields. We played 2 games Saturday and 2 games Sunday, it wasn't until second game Sunday that I noticed the sign.
It's the first time I've ever seen an outside area posted.

We're the games a scholastic event or are they club teams?

Also matters who owns the fields. If owned by the city 30.06 and .07 unenforceable.
Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid.

Re: I missed a 06 and 07 signs almost all weekend
This leads to a question in my mind.
The requirement is to post the signs conspicuously and with a letter height of at least 1 inch. There is no maximum letter height per the statute. To me, the intent of the statute is clear. They want to ensure that the signs are clearly posted to avoid any confusion and to prevent an inadvertent mistake.
If the signs are posted in a place where a person normally entering would be travelling faster than a walking pace, and would be distracted by driving (which is more distracting than walking), then wouldn't a reasonable person assume that they should make the sign a little bigger than they would for say the door of a building in order to ensure that they are complying with both the letter and the spirit of the law?
Probably won't help you beat the "ride", or the possibility of a small fine, but it would be interesting to see how this played out in court.

Letting it play out in court would be the only way to know, as you say. Sad, but the definition of conspicuous isn't clearly defined.Soccerdad1995 wrote:This leads to a question in my mind.

Now that the penalty is lower, maybe someone will be more willing to test this.chamberc wrote:Letting it play out in court would be the only way to know, as you say. Sad, but the definition of conspicuous isn't clearly defined.Soccerdad1995 wrote:This leads to a question in my mind.

Re: I missed a 06 and 07 signs almost all weekend
I wasn't looking for signs outside, that's my mistake. We were new to the area and I was more worried about being on time and finding the team. It never crossed my mind to think an outdoor area was posted.
