Another post raised a good question - at least to me. The gentleman's post described a situation at a gas station where a couple of panhandlers were approaching him. And I believe he put his hand on his pistol while telling them to go away.
My question is abit different. I normally always carry concealed in public - I can't see me carrying open unless I am on my land and private property.
However, if you take off your jacket or a sweater that was concealing your weapon - is this OK to do in public?
In the scenario described above - would taking off my jacket or raising shirt / sweater so that my pistol was handy be OK?
I am not putting hand on pistol or pulling it - just going from concealed to open carry.
I would think this would be fine? But IANAL so.......
I have never seen this question asked before - I do read the forum's regularly - so I apologize if this has been answered and I just missed it.
I would appreciate some feed back.
Thanks, gamboolman....

Yes, it would be fine. As long as the firearm is holstered and not presented in a threatening manner you are doing nothing illegal.

Perfectly acceptable. In fact, i think this is the most common form of "open carry" amongst thise of us who have been carrying concealed for years.

As long as you are not in a location that is posted 30.07.gamboolman wrote:Another post raised a good question - at least to me. I have done this exact thing got too warm and removed my jacket going from CC to OC. There is no restriction for this, as stated before as long as there is no 30.07 signage, and the gun is holstered, it shouldn't be a problem.

Just make sure that gun is in a belt or shoulder holster when you display.
