Ruger SR1911

Post by cmgee67 »

Just got my Ruger Sr1911 and I freaking love it! Shoots great and is very comfortable! Fit and finish are excellent and I like the trigger better than the kimbers I have shot. Was able to drill an 8 inch steel target at 40 yards no problem. The novaks sights it comes with are really nice as well. Looks like it go into the rotation with my G19 once my holster comes in. Anybody else carry the sr1911?

Yes, I got mine in 2011 and love it. Only problem I had was the grip screws working loose. A little blue loctite and no problem. Great shooter for sure. I purchased when they first came out in 2011. 100 years after the first one. Ruger's first and my first. It will remain unmodified for that reason. Besides that it doesn't need anything.

I loc tighted my grip screws as well just in case! It's a solid gun!!! My first 1911 as well and I have been bitten by the bug for sure. Its definitely different than a Glock. It makes you feel like you have history in your hand. I put 8 rounds on top of each other in the same hole at 15 yards and I have never shot this well with a pistol. I love it !!

Love shooting my SR1911CMD! Great pistol at a great price. I don't carry it often, but enjoy doing so when I go for an evening walk and am not as concerned about all day comfort. It is a tack driver and I like it better than many other 1911s that I have shot.

I had a four failure to feeds out of 158 rounds when I first got it but that was because I shot it out of box with no lube at all. She's all lubed up and clean now and works great! It loves the ruger mags

B"H
After 20 years denying myself of such nice gun, I got my first 1911. A Ruger SR1911 and I LOVE IT! I kind of felt betraying my Glocks, but my solution was going to range more often.
