Is this sign legal?

Post by tx mountaineer »

At the Egg And I in Tomball. The intent is there, but the sign is in bad shape.

The correct question is 'is it valid' since it's not illegal to post an invalid 30.07 sign.

Since it's a 30.07 sign, you know if you open carry there they are either going to ask you to leave, or call the police since they are posted (kind of).

Bottom line, I wouldn't try it.

:iagree: It does not meet the statutory requirements, but the intent is certainly there, If you decide to open carry, enter at your own risk....

I wouldn't. :tiphat:

I know I've said this several times in the past. I don't care if it's hand written in crayon on a napkin. If I can read it I know they don't want guns either concealed, open carried or both on their property. So I won't enter regardless of what kind of sign they have posted. Now that's how I feel about it. Others can do what they want. I don't think making an issue out it would be good for the LTC image.

I wouldn't open carry with a 30.07 sign looking like that. You are just going to be verbally notified or get the cops called on you.

I would walk right past a 30.06 sign that looked like that.

If I know that the sign was valid before it was damaged or tampered with, I'm gonna obey it just like I would any tampered with or damaged traffic sign.

Just curious but how would you know what the sign looked like at some point in the past?

Or are you saying that you would only observe this sign if you had seen it before and it was compliant at that time?

If I am driving in a town I've never been and I see a stop sign with graffiti, bullet holes, a portion missing, etc., I am going to stop even though I have never seen its condition before it was tampered with.
